Sources of inspiration

My approach as a coach and consultant is fundamentally relational and informed by insights from psychology and systems thinking.

I work from a combination of person-centered, psychodynamic and systemic approaches. These help to look not only at visible behavior, but also underlying patterns, interactions and the context in which issues arise.
For me, these perspectives are not a fixed model, but different ways of understanding what is going on. We always determine which angle is helpful in consultation, so that the approach matches the question and actually creates movement in practice.

Personalized

Empathy, meaning and development

  • Viktor Frankl
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.”
  • Carl Rogers
“We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know.”

Psychodynamic

undercurrent and unconscious processes

  • Donald Winnicott
“It is a joy to be hidden, and disaster not to be found.”
  • Wilfred Bion
“The purest form of listening is to listen without memory or desire.”

Systemic

patterns, interaction and context

  • Gregory Bateson
“Without context, words and actions have no meaning at all.”
  • Paul Watzlawick
“The belief that one’s own view of reality is the only reality is the most dangerous of all delusions.”
